Formed in Toronto in December of 2005, the BEAUTIFUL LOSERS initially started off as an acoustic duo founded by artist, poet Sarah Bassakyros (born June 7, 1983) and artist, musician, poet Robert Torbica (born April 13, 1983). Robert Torbica has been issuing independent releases since 2001 featuring full albums ‘Reactor' in 2003 and ‘Death & His Flowers' in 2004. It was during 2005 that new songs were written which developed a creative relationship with Sarah Bassakyros. Following their first live show in February 2006, the Losers continued to perform live in various venues in Toronto and record with a revolving group of local talented musicians including Mike Copley, Luke Hawkins and Bill Montrose. Though the core of the group is in its two founding members, as a full unit they have independently released three full recordings, including their first album, ‘Sings To Do' in October 2007 and its follow-up ‘THEREALONE' in February 2008. Currently, work on the Losers and in all areas of the arts will continue with everyone's love and support, resulting in a full blown collaborative third album at a later date with an incredible live show to support it! Stay tuned!
