Today Laurence Cooper is a solo artist recording his own material but his recording career started in May 1969 when Tree Records signed and recorded Gutbucket and they side-kick singer Rick Bryant. Laurence moved on to be with a top New Zealand Band Tapestry and also worked with many newer groups when the Cafe Scene started in New Zealand in the 1990's. It was the youn artists he worked with in this Scene that suggested he try his hand at composing.
Laurence's main background is Blues but this Album is Acoustic Pop and a new direction for him. In 2003 he released an EP of rock, r&b material which was recorded in Australia and Sky-Labs Studios. He returned to Sky-Lab in 2004 with this project, which took 5 years and a lot of joking about, to be completed. The wait was well worth it.
