RETURN TO LIST
Baby Scream | Interview

The band Baby Scream first came together in 2002.  Like any new band their first task was to create a sound they could call their own. Strong believers in being "true to yourself", the band wanted to follow their interest in classic/hard rock like Van Halen.  However, as the band developed they found more success in the acoustic arena using the ever popular Beatles as an influence. Could this be the next group to experience Beatlemania? Only you can be the judge of that!

When Baby Scream begins to write a new song, the process is quite simple.  The band explains that a lot of the music will come from the title of the song itself. Though lyrics seem to be secondary in most cases, the title is an important catalyst to get their creative process flowing.

When it comes to recording the band has had both good experiences and bad ones. But through this learning process came more ups then downs. This gave them a good base for their latest recording that took place in L.A.  Baby Scream recorded with Muddy Stardust and found that this experience was met with a huge success.

As what would be expected, Baby Scream, like most up and coming musicians, is against music piracy. The problem seems to lie in the younger generation that is only looking for what is fast and cheap! But really, anything that is fast and cheap can't be good for you. The band explains how an LP is conceived not only through the music itself but the artwork and story behind it.  Downloading the music blindly and having no concept of the album seems to be missing the point in the eyes of these musicians.

Speaking of albums, Baby Scream is coming out with a new CD in the next few months titled Ups and Downs. You can look forward to two new videos for the songs: "Everyday (I Die a Little Bit)" and "Mars".

Don't let the name Baby Scream deceive you... When the band was asked where they see themselves in five years, we were met with the response of, "Traveling around in a hippie van and playing for freedom lovers everywhere!" What's not to love?
