Rip Roarin and the Bon Fire Ban have been cultivating their homebrewed brand of music around their home turf for some time now. All having sprung up from rural beginnings in and around the Muskoka Lakes in central Ontario, the band members come together to create some of the finest Rock ‘n’ Roll ever to drip unto the ears. Consisting of Nick Peat: organ / piano / vocal, Wes Hunnisett: bass, John Sprague: percussion, Wyatt Ferguson: rhythm guitar, and Stefan Peat: guitar / mandolin / fiddle / steel / harmonica / vocal, a sound is created that is musically reminiscent of such acts as the Band, Dire Straits, the Eagles, CSNY, Blue Rodeo and Led Zeppelin. Lyrically, much of the band’s inspiration and style can be accredited to the great songwriters Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, Neil Young and Gordon Lightfoot. Having gotten their start on the local bar, dive and dancehall circuit, the boys of Rip Roarin are always ready to get out and spread their sound. “We play the toughest Rock ‘n’ Roll on Hwy #118 runnin through Port Carling.”
