TRAINSPOTTERS – REWIND & KAP
Young but experienced rap duo Trainspotters consists of two MCs: Rewindable & George Kaplan, born Eric Hörstedt (1986) and Hannes Sigrell (1988). Through club shows in New York, Copenhagen and Oslo, gigs at Scandinavia's larger festivals and hard work with 12" singles, mixtapes, t-shirts and street promotion, a solid reputation has been established.
"I've got mic in my left, beer in my right / Kap on the side, spittin' what you're hearing tonight / DJ in the back, spinnin' the 1210s / My real friends in front, down to fill in" - That's How
By creating the label Random Bastards, Trainspotters has remained independent without compromises. The only inked papers yet are for distribution deals in Japan, where the limited 12" single Feel The Vibe sold 500 copies in 2007.
"No up-in-the-club bling bling or sum' / We chill with Guinness and blunts 'til business is done / No suits and ties, that's right / Trainspotters, what, Random Bastards for life" - Growin Up
Rewind & Kap is the third vinyl piece from Trainspotters. The limited EP has September 2008 as a European release date. The digital release will be available worldwide at the same time through iTunes Music Store, Amazon.com and Rhapsody. Dates for Japanese and US release are currently pending.
"We rock shows in Stockholm, spot dough in Oslo / Tuck socks in Boston, got folks in Moscow / And homies in Roma, we spark it in Haag / Drink bubblin' in Dublin, and lager in Prague" - World Wide
In 2008, Trainspotters are touring Europe with Swedish DJ group P.I.C., putting together a unique live show with two DJs making the performance a smooth mixture of beats, scratch and rap. The group has been joined on stage by artists such as Mr Noun (Supersci) and Addeboy vs Cliff, but also warmed up crowds for artists like Ken Ring (SE) & Tommy Tee (NO) and Smif-N-Wessun (US).
"It's designed in graphic, Rewind and Kaplan / The EP, it's time for action / And we brought all kinds of bastards / Gettin' down with the masters behind the rappers" - Bullshit Rap
Always down for what's up - whether it’s doing shows at the Peace & Love Festival or club gigs with Midnight Ramble/Russian Spring Break, selling mixtapes hand-to-hand in Umeå or releasing singles abroad - Trainspotters is most definitely on the rise this year.
Enjoy!
