Who is Aralie.com?
Mission Statement
Aralie.com was created to support independent artists, by giving them a free market place to sell and promote their music. We are dedicated to helping small artists by doing anything we can to help them get exposure, gigs, sponsorship, and interviews. All music on Aralie.com will always be available DRM free, with no strings attached, and always downloadable for what ever price you choose (including $0).

We feel that using a pay-what-you-want model is the most practical way to circumvent music piracy. It gives artists much more control over the distribution of their music and it serves the people by allowing people to choose how much they would like to support an artist. This serves three very important roles for an artist
:

       1. It broadens the artists listenership by allowing existing and potential customers the choice to              pay what they feel is fair and not be restricted to a set price.

        2. It legitimizes obtaining music for free, by offering songs on the artists terms and giving them               a greater level of control over their content.

        3. Allows an artist to beat the old adage that "they're only in it for the money.."

We hope that this sales model will revolutionize the way music is distributed on the internet and effectively stop music piracy. In time we would like to extend this model into all types of digital media in hopes of doing the same.

The Nuts and Bolts
Aralie.com is a new music site that is poised to change the music industry. We use a pay-what-you-want sales model, so anyone can click on to our site and pay what ever they want to download our artists music. The site will be launching into public beta July 14th, here are a few key points of our site:

         1. Register, upload, and sell all your songs for free.

         2. Use our embedded application. to sell your music from your band site or social network.

         3. No contract, no exclusivity, remove your account at anytime, keep control of your music.

         4. Artists receive 85% of each purchase of your music, 13% sales and service commission
to Aralie.com, and 2% is given to charity.

         5. You get a clean, professional, well designed page, to sell your music.

         6. If you offer free downloads or samples of your music, you can quickly and easily add
those tracks to our embedded application and still offer them free but have the potential
to capitalize on some new revenue streams.

All payments from Aralie.com are done through PayPal to ensure security and efficiency.  Aralie.com donates 2% of every sale to a different charity each month, the charities are hand picked by Aralie.com staff.

FAQ
We are constantly looking for user feedback, if you have any questions always feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

1. Where do I enter my Paypal information?
You can create a Paypal account at your leisure, payouts are received via the email address you provided upon registration. We provide you with a secured URL to transfer the money into you account.

2. How often are payouts?
Payouts are done on a monthly basis.

3. Is there a dollar amount that must be reached before payout happens?
The minimum payout amount is $2.00, because of transfer fees any less then this amount would cause Aralie to loose money and we wouldn't be able to provide you with this fantastic service!

4. Can you give me the names of the charities that you work with?

We are constantly adding new charities, for the month of July these are the charities that will be receiving donations.
Port Carling Public Library
Ontario Minor Hockey Association
Canadian Hearth and Stroke Foundation

5.Can submit my tax information as having made a charitable donation?
You cant claim the 2% from every sale as have been making a charitable donation. It easiest to think of it as 85% goes to the artist, 15% is withheld for Aralie.com and we make the donation out the the 15%.

6.How do I add an Aralie Badge to our site?
Add this snippet to add the "Buy Our Music On Aralie.com" badge to your site.

<a href="BAND PAGE"><img src="http://aralie.com/admin/contentEngine/contentImages/Image/BuyLogo.jpg"></a>

Simply change BAND PAGE to your aralie.com website address and your off to the races. If the code worked you should see this.

Or use

<a href="BAND PAGE"><img src="http://aralie.com/admin/contentEngine/contentImages/Image/EmailLogo.jpg"></a>

7.How do I order the tracks on my album?
We are working on a nice solution for this, but until then you can simply put the track number in front of the track name when you upload and it will arrange your tracks by number. Any other tracks you upload will be arranged alphabetically.

8.How do I set the price for tracks on my album?
Login to your Aralie.com profile, click edit underneath the album you want to set the price on. Scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a spot that says track price, type in the amount you want per song. NOTE: This is the price per song, not for the album, we recommend $0.50 per track.

9.How do I sell my music on MySpace?
Click Here for a step-by-step on installing our myspace app.

About the Company
Aralie.com was founded by Wyatt Ferguson early January 2008 in Guelph, Ontario. The name Aralie comes from the French word for a flower that grows in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario. The company is built on two key components:

1. Our pay-what-you-want sales model

        2. Embedded application framework

We believe building on existing networks is a much better business strategy then trying to compete with sites and services that are already very well refined. The first embedded application we are rolling out is our embedded sales app for artists, so they can easily add all their music from Aralie.com to any other social networks, or websites and have it all available for purchase right there. The idea for the pay-what-you-want model was really inspired by the success of Radiohead's album 'In Rainbows', showing that letting users pay what they want is a viable option for music.

Events/Sponsorship
We are always looking to be involved directly with artists. If you're hosting a concert, festival, release, etc.. feel free to contact us we are constantly looking for new groups and artists to get involved with. Also we currently are running a sponsorship program for artists, some of the opportunities available if you are selected for sponsorship are:

      1. Free band banner for shows.

2. Your band has the option to play high profile events around the country.

3. Massive exposure through Aralie.com and its partners.

      4. Interviews, Previews, and Reviews of shows, CD's, etc..

If you think you have what it takes send your press kit to marketing@aralie.com. The whole purpose of the site is to support independent artists, so regardless of what stage your band is at if there's anyway you think Aralie.com can help your band grow please contact us.
